Designing documents for printing in PowerPoint

We get a lot of clients sending us documents to print that they have designed in PowerPoint that they then require us to print as it appears on screen (edge to edge colour) unfortunately this is not possible unless your slide size was set to A4 or A5 before you started designing the document. If you use the default slide size settings we can only fit your document to A4 or A5 when printing which results in you having a white border around all the pages.

PowerPoint by default sets slides to 16 by 9 rather than A4 or A5.

It is easy to fix and will improve the look of the document when printed, it will also speed up the production process as we don’t then have to send you proofs of how your document looks once fitted to the A size.

To change the slide size click on the design tab and then click on slide size , in the drop down you can then change the set up to A4 or A5. This can only be done before you start the design process or save to PDF.

It is also a good idea to add in a 10mm safe zone on the binding edge (if you require the document wiro bound once printed)to avoid us punching into text or images when binding.

If you need any help with setting up documents please do not hesitate to contact us as we are always happy to advise
